As a Data Scientist, you’ll find yourself at the exciting crossroads of analytics and strategy within our Competition Analytics & Insights vertical. Here, we’re dedicated to not only staying at the forefront of competitive intelligence but also setting the standard on a global scale.

In this role, you’ll work closely with a highly skilled and motivated team, with the primary goal of harnessing the power of competitive data to elevate Uber Eats to new heights. What You Will Do

  • Support leadership and regional teams with building models to validate competition trends
  • Translate ambiguous questions, drive analysis and synthesise findings into clear recommendations for regional teams. Ensure we take recommendations to execution. We don’t just stop at strategy
  • Build the competition data infrastructure worldwide and ease access to data for the teams. Develop end-to-end data flows for dashboards and other projects
  • Build dashboards/visualizations for high-priority business critical metrics
  • Build lead scoring models, as well as matching algorithms for competitive overlaps and duplicate detection

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of work experience in a data analytical role (data consulting, data analytics, data engineering)
  • Advanced Python and SQL skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills

What You Will Need

  • Experience with identifying, building, and improving operational processes
  • Data-driven problem-solving abilities, with sound business judgment and curiosity about turning data into useful insights that inform decisions
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with experience working with cross-functional global teams.
  • Track record of driving strategic insights and tying strategy work to specific business goals; experience with competitive strategy a plus
  • Self-starter demeanour with project management skills – Able to self-serve, investigate, get the data required and convert it into meaningful insights and recommendations
  • Skilled communication and comfort in sharing information formally or informally with senior audiences
