The Production Reliability Engineering group prides in keeping the applications and systems of Visa up and running to cater to the 24*7 needs of the business. As part of the team – incumbent will be responsible for supporting critical applications and ensure the stability of the applications by performing proactive maintenance activities, engage in automation activities, do root cause analysis and remediation. The role requires working knowledge of production support processes such as incident/change/problem management, call triage and escalation procedures. The role will also demand the ability to write and maintain scripts to monitor system activity including application smoke test activities during pre and postproduction implementations. This person will work on various Data Interface applications. This includes maintaining the projects, responding to customer queries and helping troubleshoot data and Java application issues. Incumbent will work with cross-functional teams (Development, Quality Engineering, Release Management, Operations, and Product Management) for continual product delivery improvement. Will be responsible for managing the Service Level Agreements (SLA) with customers on problem tickets.

Responsibilities

– Responsible for supporting critical Visa Business applications and ensuring the stability of the applications.
– Perform proactive maintenance activities, engage in automation activities, and perform root cause analysis and remediation.
– Write and maintain scripts to monitor system functionality and performance.
– Apply code and operation break fixes and other proactive maintenance activities
– Will evaluate the issues reported by Visa clients and members in order to provide ongoing solutions.
– Performance tuning of applications
– Execute decisive action to preserve and maintain service availability, performance, integrity, capacity, and security.
– Participate in root causes analysis for service failure and provide resolution.
– Work with ticketing application to manage tickets and maintain SLA and OLA

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience or a Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 or more years of work experience
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related technical field.
  • Knowledge of production support processes, including incident/change/problem management, and escalation procedures.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Java and Linux application support and DB concepts
  • Excellent UNIX/Linux Skills and well versed with deployment pipeline
  • 1-2 years of Experience with ITIL, BMC Remedy/ ServiceNow and ticketing workflows.
  • Willing to be on-call rotation on weekdays and weekends.
  • 1-2 years of experience in Production support working in a globally distributed team
  • Support after hours maintenance windows and deployment
  • Strong understanding of containers & microservice architecture.
  • Strong understanding of SDLC
  • Experience with builds, deployment, troubleshooting and production support
  • Strong scripting knowledge and work on experience is more value add
