Software Engineer Intern

Job Description

Keelvar has an exciting engineering internship opportunity for undergraduate students in their third year of a four year degree with a background in computer science and / or technology to join our engineering organisation in a developer capacity.

Our product teams are cross functional and include developers, data scientists, UI, QA and product designers.

We’re working at the forefront of optimization and automation, and this is a great experience for technology minded developers to acquire experience working in the procurement industry. This is a unique opportunity to be involved in these next-generation products.

This role can either start in January or March 2023 and is for a period of 6 to 9 months.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work in a cross functional development team analysing product feature requests and designing solutions.
• Write unit tests and otherwise ensure the quality of your code. Get involved with reviewing colleague’s code and designs. Help to investigate and problem solve issues.         
• Get involved in code deployments and help to monitor the areas of the system you work in. 
• Collaborate with our QA engineers to ensure a quality first approach in all development activities.
• Collaborate closely with the Product team on new features and workflows.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to ensure vision is delivered.
• Contribute to the ongoing success of this fast-paced, rapidly growing and evolving organization.
• Bring a fresh perspective to the problems your team is tackling.

YOUR PROFILE

• You are in your third year of a four year undergraduate degree, ideally Computer Science focused
• You enjoy coding in Python or another object oriented language.
• You enjoy writing clean and testable code and are familiar with common software design patterns.
• You are self motivated and driven to achieve; you enjoy setting yourself goals and exceeding them, and you tackle the status quo.
• You are a deep thinker, you like to innovate, you like to solve problems creatively and quickly, and are passionate about technology and people.
• You thrive in an environment of mutual respect, openness and collaboration. You enjoy getting things done at a quick pace.
• You have a sense of ownership, you enjoy taking initiative and leading work through to completion.
