You will join a supportive and well-organized teams that value different opinions. You will work with Software & DevOps Engineers, Scrum Masters and Engineering Managers who are eager share their knowledge and help you to grow as an engineer. 

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?

During the internship you will work on one of our own projects, mentored closely by the full-time employees who developed them. Our teams are developing innovative, state-of-the-art global solutions.  You will join a team either in Global Architecture Platforms or Enterprise Data & Analytics technology domains. You’ll be empowered to build community, explore your passions and achieve your goals.  Below are some of the projects we work on in our Tech Hub in Gdansk:

• Video & Image Recognition Automation (VIRA). This product relies on in-house developed ML models that rapidly tag Nike images and video with relevant metadata in an automated, repeatable way, a task which is extremely expensive to  be performed manually at scale. VIRA can perform tasks such as identifying Nike athletes, detecting objects, and labeling product attributes such as zippers and thumbholes
• Nike Managed NiFi a system/platform to process, enrich and automate data distribution between many sources and multiple destinations. We are building it, to help our customers to focus on how to create business value from their data rather than focusing on its day to day operations 
• Metadata Catalog is crucial part of Nike Data Fabric. It allows employees to find data sets that are interesting to them, helps to control and broaden access to data internally and will be integrated with many data processing platforms that you can find at Nike. You will have chance to code in Python, use Terraform to manage infrastructure, run applications on AWS and store information in TigerGraph
• Nike Streaming Platform is a central nervous system for real-time data which enables high throughput, low-latency, fault-tolerant enterprise streaming capability of delivering trillions of events per day. By joining the team, you will be building a fully monitored, managed and scalable platform. This will allow Nike engineers automatically provision Apache Kafka clusters effortlessly to accelerate delivering applications consuming real-time data

WHAT YOU BRING TO NIKE?

• Studying Bachelor’s/ master’s degree in Information Technology, Information Security/Assurance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field of study
• Experience in at least one of the following languages (Python, Go, JavaScript, Java)
• Knowledge of distributed/cloud-based environments
• Willingness to learn
