Introduction:

This role is for Lead Full Stack Developer for Barclays Payments Merchant Services (BPMS). As a Lead FSD you will be responsible for managing delivery of application development and live releases – for an application or a portfolio of applications; leading a team of application developers

What will you be doing?

• Hands on development, testing and deployment of quality code, in timely manner, meeting the business/project requirements
• Work closely with the development team in coming up with impact analysis, creating / reviewing design document and technical implementation plans for production releases.
• Takes responsibility for ensuring that solutions meet business requirements and adhere to architectural standards and policies.
• Identify the areas of improvement and come up with plans to optimize the engineering processes, focusing on process simplification.
• Maintain and contributes to current developments in the relevant technical specialisation (s) within Technology.
• Manage the development plans of the team and motivate the team.
• Keep up-to-date on the wider industry regulations, standards and trends.
• Provide technical leadership to less senior members of the team.
• Promote innovation, quality and exploration of new ideas as a culture..

What we’re looking for:

• Must have Strong skills in Object Oriented Analysis and Design Concepts, Core Java 7/8, Middle tier technologies e.g. JPA/hibernate, Spring, unit testing, mocking frameworks and caching concepts clarity.
• Hands on knowledge on Web services (SOAP, REST and Micro Services) with spring.
• Rest API documentation using RAML/Swagger
• Ensuring early feedback loops within team and enabling quality at source
• Hands on knowledge of associated technologies such as Spring Boot, Spring-JMS, Spring-Data
• Must have strong skill in TDD, BDD, Pair programming and System integration.
• Expert in usage of tools like SonarQube, Jenkins, Maven, Nexus, etc.
• Ability to impart knowledge with less experienced or less knowledgeable team members.
• Ability to understand and implement security concepts and solutions within the components
• Analytical ability including root cause identification and pro-active design improvement
• Awareness of Cloud hosting – Open Shift Enterprise, AWS, etc.
• Awareness of Cloud concepts, DevOps and CI:CD

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Experience of working with RDBMS development experience (e.g. Oracle) & SQL skills
• Experience of using the Git source code control system
• Experience to develop software for multiple Operating Systems (e.g. Linux, Windows)
• Experience of working within a regulatory driven change environment
• Good understanding of Cards Acquiring and Payments domain.
• Appreciation of Event Driven Architecture & Domain Driven Design
