Key job responsibilities
* Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians.
* Improve the security, performance and stability of Operating System Kernels (Linux), Hypervisors, and Userspace programs. Develop functionality directly or develop and implement tooling.
* Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.
* Work in an agile environment to deliver high quality software.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields at time of application.
* Ability to write code in C and/or C++ and/or Python, or similar languages.
* Understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as algorithm design, data structures, problem solving and complexity analysis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Experience with Operating Systems, Kernels, Linux distributions, or low-level system software.
* Interest in learning unfamiliar concepts, and curiosity to try new solutions.
* Practical written and verbal English technical communication skills.
