WHAT YOU DO AT AMD CHANGES EVERYTHING

We care deeply about transforming lives with AMD technology to enrich our industry, our communities, and the world. Our mission is to build great products that accelerate next-generation computing experiences – the building blocks for the data center, artificial intelligence, PCs, gaming and embedded. Underpinning our mission is the AMD culture. We push the limits of innovation to solve the world’s most important challenges. We strive for execution excellence while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. This is who we are at our best. One Company. One Team.

AMD together we advance_

The Product Verification group is looking for a motivated Software Engineer to design and implement pre-/post-silicon validation infrastructure for AMD 7nm FPGA products and beyond. Your main responsibility is to develop automated system/tools for silicon test patterns generation/release, for the industry’s cutting-edge FPGA products. Automation tools include but are not limited to block and full-chip level simulation flow, FPGA test design synthesis/implementation, Scan/MBIST/IJTAG patterns creation, ATE test sequence generation, and test data analytics. The automation tools will be used by multiple teams to help improve their work efficiency and productivity.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop automation scripts to create complex Verilog/VHDL netlist, compile and simulate various individual hardware blocks as well as full-chip SOC level
  • Develop tools to analyze simulated circuit behaviors at different levels of design hierarchy
  • Work with test development engineers across functional and structural test functions to innovate finest test generation flow to minimize chances of human introduced errors
  • Enhance existing FPGA synthesis/implementation tools/flow by adding proper resources/timing constraints to generate robust test patterns that are scalable across product families
  • Invent automated tool for post-silicon validation test sequence that works across test methods and hardware test platforms e.g., bench system board and Automatic Test Equipment (ATE)
  • Explore and implement innovative data analytics flow/tools to process large amount of manufacturing test/debug data to improve pattern debug efficiency, by applying state-of-the-art AI/Machine-learning algorithms

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor/Master’s Degree in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience in engineering tools development
  • Proficient in Python and Perl/Shell scripting in Linux environment
  • Exposure to VHDL/Verilog and experience in development of FPGA design is highly desirable
  • Exposure to data visualization tool such as Tableau and Power BI will have added advantage
  • Knowledge of functional simulation environments for pre-silicon verification is a plus
  • Prior knowledge of structural or functional verification methodologies is a plus
  • Familiar with automation and system regression testing is also a plus
  • Good communication skills and analytical thinking
