Job Description

Our Summer Internship is a 11-week programme providing you the opportunity to experience all that Visa has to offer alongside completing challenging work, building your skillset, and networking with fellow interns and Visa employees. Throughout the internship you will work on BAU work within your team, be given an end-to-end project to complete and take part in a variety of trainings to increase your learning. You will also get the opportunity to take part in a global social impact case challenge as well as hearing from senior leaders through our Visa Executive Speaker Series.

The internship is just the beginning to what we hope will be a lasting career at Visa! If you are successful throughout your internship you could even secure a graduate role with us when you finish university/engineering school.

Team Description

As an Intern within the Technology & Operations team in the Visa office in Paris, you will be joining a highly collaborative, forward-thinking team of technologists who are building solutions to be used by millions of people across the globe. Our experienced team is committed to leveraging your talent and ambition and to ensure that you realize your maximum potential. We don’t expect you to know everything; we favour attitude and ability over experience. You will be involved in challenging work every day, expanding your technical abilities and gaining an appreciation of the whole product development lifecycle.  

Day to Day Responsibilities

As an Intern in Visa you will: 

  • Work on our platform for next generation customer present payments. 
  • Gain first-hand exposure to the multiple facets of the software development lifecycle.
  • Have the opportunity to work across different product lanes, gaining an insight and appreciation into software engineering practices, technologies and product complexities. 
  • Deliver functionalities end-to-end, from our C++ backends to our C# frontends. 
  • Grow your knowledge and understanding of software engineering. 


Visa are a talented team of 26,000 individuals with unique backgrounds, perspectives and experiences. Our qualifications to apply can be noted below:

  • You are currently pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s degree with a focus on Computer Science, Informatics or equivalent.
  • You are in your penultimate year of University/Engineering school and will graduate in 2024. 
  • You are able to complete a full time internship over the summer (June or July 2023 start)
  • You are eager to learn the skills required to deliver features end-to-end, from backend web services and transactional processing functions to user frontend. 
  • You have a growth mindset and want to take on new challenges outside of your comfort zone. 
  • You have coding ability within languages such as C# and C++ in Windows environment.
  • You possess good communication skills, and you welcome the opportunity to collaborate in a tight knit, agile team-oriented group.
