Job description – System Design (Flight Warning System)

Job Description

System Design Engineer is responsible for designing the Mission Critical on-board Flight Warning System based on the needs from various stakeholders on time, cost and quality using the relevant technologies.

Main Activities

Top Level System Requirement analysis, development of High Level Requirements (HLR) and Low Level Requirements (LLR: Design Models in SCADE or in Proprietary System Modelling Tools, System Interface Control Documents, Etc.)

Carry out Specification/Design reviews with specialists from various domains.

Create validation strategy to validate implemented System Functionalities – Independent and joint validation with stakeholders.

Report progress of activity with timely escalations.

Follow defined processes and ensure no deviations.

Analysis of Flight Warning Incident reported by Airlines on various programs.

Develop System Requirements for the Suppliers/Equipment manufacturers (Eg: Software Development Team)

Address the System Safety and Certification needs in timely manner.

Qualification:

B.E / M.E / M. Tech /M.E., preferably with experience in the aerospace industry.

Experience:

Preferably 5- 12 years of relevant domain experience.

Required Technical Skill:

3 to 10 year experience in System Development or System Testing

Model based development (MATLAB/Simulink/SCADE/Any other Modelling Tools)

Knowledge of Verification and Validation activities and means.

Knowledge of Configuration Management and Requirement Management (Eg: Doors) tool.

Knowledge of any of the following aerospace standards would be desirable: ARP4754A, DO178, DO331,

ARINC 653, ARINC 429

Good to have understanding of Software Architecture.

Good in problem solving and debugging

Good analytical skills

Soft skills

Strong communication skills to build effective relationships with various stakeholders in a multi-cultural environment.

Ability to increase productivity and continuously improve methods, approaches, and departmental contribution. Commitment to continuous learning.

Good verbal & written English skills a must.
