Job Description

Experience: 2 to 12 years

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.

As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

Responsibilities:

Virtual Cloud Networking(VCN) is a core function of OCI – A virtual, private network that you set up in Oracle data centers. It closely resembles a traditional network, with firewall rules and specific types of communication gateways that you can choose to use. A VCN resides in a single Oracle Cloud Infrastructure region and covers one or more CIDR blocks of your choice.

We are looking for SDEs (Software Development Engineers) to join the Card Management service team in VCN. The team owns the hardware and software that implements Software Defined Network(SDN) for all OCI customers. This function is at the heart of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure’s offering and powers all the experiences that the product offers.

Responsibilities

As an SDE joining this team, your mission would be to protect and serve customer trust by focusing on achieving mission-critical availability. This mission includes:

  • Design, Develop and Maintain systems to support our distributed fleet of SmartNICs. Includes distributed deployment and monitoring tooling.
  • Automate and maintain build and test systems including Enterprise Linux systems for performance and scalability testing.
  • Participate in our on-call rotation which requires monitoring our fleet and associated services.
  • Improve our operational capabilities by developing runbooks, alarming metrics, and building tools.
  • Improve efficiency of the deployment processes across a fast-growing number of regions through automation and scale improvements to tools and dashboards.

Qualifications

You are an expert Java developer with design and development experience of highly available and scalable distributed cloud systems.

Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Should have experience handling a team, providing direction and mentoring.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2 to 12 years of experience with Java – design, architecture and development of complex cloud systems
  • 2+ years of experience in developing large scale distributed services / Experience designing micro service and take care of scalability, maintainability etc.,
  • Hands on experience in Data structures and Algorithms
  • Experience handing a team.
  • Understanding of design patterns and good low level design principles/practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
