We’re looking for the brightest minds to build the future of TV with us.About The TeamDisney+ Hotstar’s Infrastructure Engineering team manages technologies and builds platforms that power engineering teams at Hotstar. We operate compute clusters and ingress technologies across several geographies with stringent capacity, reliability, and uptime requirements. We also power the platform that scales the infrastructure during large events as well as provides the guaranteed performance of workloads running on the infrastructure. We set the standard for how infrastructure is managed through code and at the same time build tools and abstractions that help the development teams stay focused on providing a great user experience for our customers. We use AWS for our cloud on top of which we run Kubernetes, Terraform, Envoy, Vault, and Victoria Metrics, all of which are tied together by frameworks we have built in-house. We are a polyglot team and our diverse tools and APIs are written in Golang, Python, and Ruby. • You will design, build and enhance abstractions on top of infrastructure platforms such as AWS and Kubernetes that simplify infra experience for the organization.
• You will evaluate feature requests from functional teams, generalize them and propose abstracted solutions.
• You will learn cloud and other compute platform capabilities from a developer standpoint and make use of APIs and extension points to build tools and solutions.
• You will participate in design reviews for both infra tools and customer serving applications and provide platform-level feedback.
• You will work with the Cloud Infra team closely in evolving the architecture of platform solutions to fit the need of the organization.
• You will be responsible for uptime, disaster recovery, and the performance of solutions built by the Infrastructure Platform team.
• You will continuously evaluate relevant technologies, influence and drive architecture and design discussions

What to Bring

• Expertise with Golang – Including idiomatic code for modules, CLIs, and APIs. Experience in following good coding practices and hygiene, including test-first methodologies.
• Experience in designing code in form of modules and interfaces and writing extensible APIs
• Exposure to distributed architectures and tools and protocols such as Kafka, Redis, gRPC, H2, etc.
• Experience in writing good documentation – with an emphasis on clarity and concision.
• Exposure to Infra Technologies – such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Linux.

What is the ideal growth path for this Role

• The candidate will grow as an SSDE/Architect on the career ladder of the engineering team at Hotstar.
• The scope then is to provide an end-to-end solution for infrastructure evolution and emerging technologies adoption.

Ideal Education & Experience

• B.Tech/B.E/ Masters. in Computer Science from a reputed college or related technical discipline with 2-4 years of experience in designing and writing APIs and web applications that serve a moderate to large user base.
